Crime Prevention Audits

Peaceman Consulting conducts crime prevention audits for both residential and business properties using the priniciples of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED).

CPTED involves the design of physical space in the context of the needs and predictable behaviour of the bonafide users of the space. The  review process is an opportunity to plan and design safe environments — residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, parks, open spaces and road network developments before they are built.  CPTED is based on the belief that the proper design and effective use of the built environment can lead to a reduction in the fear and incidence of crime as well as an improvement in the quality of life.

All audits are completed within the framework of the 5 CPTED Principles:

  1. Natural Surveillance
  2. Natural Access Control
  3. Territoriality
  4. Maintenance
  5. Activity Support (Business Audit only)

Peaceman Consulting provides a qualified CPTED Analyst.
